Australia’s ‘Golden Ticket’ Visa: How It Works And For Which Type Of Individual?

The Australian Golden Ticket visa is also known as the Significant Investor provisional visa. Applicants for this visa can stay in Australia for up to five years if they invest approved funds into certain funds. The visa also acts as a path to apply for permanent residency.

The Gillard Government introduced this visa in 2012 and many changes have been made later, including a reduction in the price paid to sponsor migrants. O’Neil has stated that this is an effective way for “buying your way into Australia.” She also said that most people will get upset when they find out there is a category which can help them buy their way into the country.

Working of Australia investor visa

The Significant Investor Visa stream has been created for people who can invest at least $5 million into approved investments in Australia. They must hold this investment until their visa is valid. There are certain eligibility criteria that these applicants need to meet in order to apply for this visa.

You need to invest in a mixture of growth private equity funds, venture capital approved managed funds, and a balancing investment in managed funds. The cost of the visa for the main applicant is $9,195. An additional charge has to be paid for each family member included in the application.
