Agri-food
The agri-food sector in Victoria is focused on growing and producing food, as well as modernizing the industry. To be considered for selection to apply for nomination, applicants must use their STEMM skills (science, technology, engineering mathematics and medicine) to innovate within the industry – research or manufacturing are perfect examples.
Advanced manufacturing
Victoria has a flourishing advanced manufacturing sector that includes industries such as defence and aerospace. To be considered to be working in advanced manufacturing, you must use your STEMM skills to enhance innovation, for example by conducting research and development, designing products or supply chain management. In doing so you are contributing towards making Victoria more competitive globally through the use of technology.
New energy, emissions reduction and circular economy
This sector includes industries such as renewable energy, bioenergy, carbon capture and storage. Applicants could be using their STEMM skills to support efforts to reduce waste, cut pollution and protect the environment.
Creative industries
The creative industries play a vital role in Victoria’s cultural life, economic prosperity and social well-being. The Victorian Government’s Creative State 2025 strategy is designed to secure the state’s reputation as a global cultural destination. In order to further support this idea, Victoria is seeking applications from residents who work in the screen industry with their STEMM skills in visual effects or digital animation.
