The Skilled Stream category, which has a total of 79,600 immigration spots and is the most popular among potential migrants who want to immigrate in Australia according to government statistics. The reason why it should be your first choice while applying for a PR visa is because this stream has more openings than any other migration program. If you match the eligibility conditions and score enough points on that particular stream then you will have a higher chance of getting your PR visa here.

To be eligible for a visa under this program, you must first meet the requirements of the Skilled category which consists of:.

  • You have to be experienced in a nominated occupation on Australia’s Skilled Occupations List.
  • Have your skills evaluated by a designated authority for that duty.
  • Submit an Expression of Interest
  • You are under 45 years old.
  • Meet general Skilled Migration basic requirements
  • Score at least 65 on the points test
  • Meet health and character requirements

Once you receive an invitation to apply for this visa, 60 days is the amount of time offered to submit your application. Moving under any one of these visas will lead to citizenship in Australia after a period of few years.

The three important visas under this stream include:

Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189):  You can apply for this visa by invitation only. To be eligible, you should have experience in a nominated occupation on Australia’s Skilled Occupations List

Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190):  If you are nominated by an Australian state or territory, you are eligible for this visa. It offers the same advantages as the Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189).

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 Visa: This visa will allow skilled professionals to live, work and study in specified regional zones for five years.

If you are opting to apply for your PR visa under the Skilled Migration Program, make sure that the option you choose is best suited to your qualifications. Consider how far you can meet all of their eligibility requirements and what success will look like for this option.

Employer Sponsored Migration

The Employer Sponsored Migration program attempts to fill skill shortages for Australian jobs by matching employers with migrants who have the necessary qualifications and experience. As there are only 22,000 spots available in this program, it may be your best option.

The easiest way to obtain your Australian PR is entirely subjective. There are numerous possibilities open to you; the success of your application will depend on the program you decide on and whether or not you meet all of its eligibility requirements for 2022.
